Opening Night · REX KL · Kuala Lumpur · 2026
What happens on the night — from architectural projection and live blockchain demonstrations to an artist panel and industry networking. Full event date to be confirmed.
The main arena at REX KL is transformed into an immersive environment of large-scale projection across the full width and height of the cinema space. Selected works are displayed at a scale that allows visitors to truly inhabit them rather than simply observe.
The projection runs continuously throughout the evening, with works screened in sequence. Each artist's work occupies the full space — floor, walls, and ceiling — creating a communal audiovisual environment that is the heart of the exhibition.
A moderated panel discussion bringing together local and international artists and practitioners from the exhibition. Speakers will discuss their practice, their relationship to blockchain and digital infrastructure, and what it means to make work in and for a decentralised ecosystem.
The panel is open to all ticket holders and is designed to be accessible — no prior technical knowledge assumed. Confirmed speakers will be announced after the open call selection in September 2026.
A staffed Solana wallet onboarding station runs throughout the evening, giving visitors who are new to blockchain a direct, hands-on entry point into the ecosystem. No prior experience or technical knowledge required.
Visitors can set up a wallet, receive a small amount of SOL to interact with, and participate in a live transaction — making the blockchain tangible and real rather than abstract. The station is the most participatory element of the night and a key part of Meshahara's mission to onboard non-crypto-native audiences.
The opening night brings together artists, collectors, developers, curators, and representatives from Kuala Lumpur's leading Web3 and digital asset companies. Confirmed sponsors and partners will be present throughout the evening.
This is a genuine cross-sector gathering — art and technology, local and international, crypto-native and crypto-curious — in one room. The networking element is informal and structured around the exhibition rather than a separate event.
The opening night also serves as the launch of the Meshahara printed publication — a documentation of the exhibition, the artists, and the curatorial framework. The publication is available to purchase on the night and through the website.
A digital version and full community documentation archive will be released following the event, serving as the long-term record of the project.
